Technical data

250 ml container specifications

A hexagonal container with rounded edges. It shares its footprint and pallet quantity with the 400 ml container; only the height differs. There is no medical version: these are food-grade containers. We mold 250 ml containers for Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan at our plant in Bishkek.

Brim-full capacity is 300 milliliters, which leaves 50 ml of headspace above the nominal fill. On such a small size, that's a fifth of the volume, and it's there for a reason: the lid needs room to fit around the full perimeter without squeezing out the product. With a 90 by 80 mm bottom and a 110 by 100.5 mm top, the taper is slight, so empty containers nest only partway, but filled ones sit steadily on the shelf.

Purchase estimate

How much product fits in a 250 ml container

You fill in milliliters but buy product by the tonne. This table converts one into the other for the products this size is most often used for.

ProductDensityNet weight at 250 ml fillUnits per 1 tPallets per 1 t
Salad with dressing0.90 kg/L0.23 kg4,3480.25
20% sour cream1.00 kg/L0.25 kg4,0000.23

Sauces and pastes1.10 kg/L0.28 kg3,5710.20
Honey1.42 kg/L0.36 kg2,7780.16

Densities are for reference. For salads, density depends on the dressing; for cottage cheese, on how much whey is pressed out. We calculate net weight separately for your recipe. The last column is based on 17,600 containers per pallet.

How many pallets and trucks for 250 ml containers

A pallet holds 17,600 containers and stands 2.59 m tall. A standard 13.6 m semi-trailer takes 34 pallets, or 598,400 containers. Enter your quantity or product weight to see the pallets, packaging weight, and truck load.

Body shape

Hexagonal, not round

It's not a round tub but a hexagonal body with rounded edges: 110 by 100.5 mm at the top and 90 by 80 mm at the bottom. In a display case or a fridge, that makes a real difference.

  • Hexagons fit edge to edge like a honeycomb, while round jars always leave gaps on a shelf.
  • A pallet holds 17,600 containers, the highest pallet quantity in the entire catalog.
  • Flat sides take a label better: the image doesn't warp around a curve the way it does on a round body.
  • The unusual shape makes your packaging stand out on the shelf among round cups and jars.
  • The trade-off is packaging weight: 52 g of polypropylene per liter of product, more than any other item in the catalog. That's how small sizes work: you still need a complete shell, but it holds very little.

Applications

Typical uses for the 250 ml container

250 ml is a single serving. Delis, ready-meal kitchens, and dairies that sell by weight at retail pick this size. Hexagonal containers fit edge to edge in a display case, so more of them fit than round containers of the same capacity.

Cottage cheese and sour cream

A quarter kilogram is a standard retail portion. Polypropylene handles washing and cold storage, and the snug lid keeps out odors from the next shelf.

Salads and ready meals

A takeout portion for delis and lunch counters. The flat side walls are a good surface for a label with ingredients and a use-by date.

Honey and spreads

Holds 360 g of honey. In the clear version, the product is fully visible, so the container can go straight onto the counter with no extra display.

Sauces and appetizers

Adjika, sauces, and pickles in small portions. The 50 ml of headspace below the brim allows for expansion when the product cools.

Options

Lid, shape, color, and printing

Lid

Comes with the container, fits around the full perimeter, and opens by tearing off the tamper-evident strip. For ready meals, this is the main sign of first opening: once torn, the strip can't be put back.

Shape

A hexagon with rounded edges, 110 by 100.5 mm at the top. In a display case, these containers fit edge to edge, without the gaps that round packaging always leaves.

Color

Buyers choose white for labels and full-coverage printing, and clear when the product should be fully visible: salads, cottage cheese, or honey.

Printing

For ongoing production, in-mold labeling (IML) goes on the lid: the film is fused into it during molding, and the 3D configurator has an artwork area for it. The walls get an adhesive label, which also suits small orders, and on a flat side the image doesn't distort the way it does on a round body.

Nearby sizes

250 ml or a nearby size

The closest item in the hexagonal line is the 400 ml container. They're especially easy to compare: their top and bottom dimensions match to the millimeter, so the only difference is one parameter.

ItemNominal capacityTop dimensionsHeightEmpty weightPackaging per 1 LPer pallet
PHD250250 ml110 x 100.5 mm50 mm13 g52.0 g17,600
PHD400400 ml110 x 100.5 mm77 mm16.5 g41.3 g17,600

Read the first and last columns together. The 250 and 400 ml containers have the same top size, the same bottom size, and the same pallet quantity: 17,600 pieces. The only difference is height: 50 mm versus 77 mm. So one pallet space of 400 ml containers carries 7,040 L of product instead of 4,400 L, 60% more in exactly the same space. Packaging weight per liter tells the same story: 52 g versus 41.3 g. The third item in the line, the flat 750 ml tray, is a different design with a different body and purpose, and it has its own page.

Frequently asked questions about 250 ml containers

Didn't find an answer? Our sales manager replies Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Bishkek time

Packing density. Hexagons fit edge to edge, while round jars always leave gaps between them. That's why 17,600 fit on one pallet, the highest pallet quantity in the catalog. Plus, a flat side takes a label better: the image doesn't warp on a curve.

Only in height: 50 mm versus 77 mm. Their top and bottom dimensions are identical, and so is the pallet quantity: 17,600 pieces. In liters of product, one pallet space carries 4,400 L versus 7,040 L.

Because the capacity is small. Every package needs walls, a bottom, and a lid, but this one holds very little, which works out to 52 g of polypropylene per liter of product. It's a feature of small formats, not of this particular item.

We don't list prices on the website: the price depends on order size, color, decoration, and delivery route. Call +996 222 600 292 or request a callback.

Polypropylene withstands both cold storage and reheating, but the exact conditions depend on the product and on your equipment. Before you start a production run, we recommend confirming the parameters with our sales manager.

No. Our food containers are made in food-grade versions only. The medical line consists of buckets from 1 L to 21 L.

Yes, by the pallet (17,600 pieces each) to Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, and other cities. Shipments stay within the EAEU, and the rate depends on the number of pallet spaces.

Pick it up from our warehouse in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone, Ak-Chiy village. We deliver in Bishkek and the Chuy Region with our own trucks and ship to other cities via a freight carrier.

Yes. For regular production runs, we use IML on the lid: the film is fused into it during molding. For the walls and for small orders, we apply an adhesive label, which lies flat on a straight side without distortion.
