Logistics cheat sheet

How many buckets, containers, and jerry cans fit on a pallet

The pallet is the main unit for ordering, counting, and shipping packaging. One pallet holds anywhere from 600 to 7,200 empty HTI buckets, depending on size, and 100 or 180 jerry cans. Below are the figures for the whole lineup, converted into liters and kilograms of plastic, plus a simple way to turn your packing plan into a number of pallets. A cheat sheet for buyers and logistics managers in Bishkek, Osh, Almaty, or Shymkent.

Units, liters, and kilograms on one pallet

Sizes with the same quantity per pallet share one row, which keeps the table short and handy. The third column is total nominal capacity: how much product a pallet of empty packaging can hold. The fourth is the weight of the buckets themselves, based on the catalog tare weight, without handles or the pallet. Values within a row follow the same order as the sizes in the first cell.

The 21 L and 15 L buckets deliver the most product per pallet: 12,600 and 12,240 L. Among the large sizes, the 8 L bucket ships the most air: its pallet holds just 6,720 L nominal, less than the 5.6 L size. Small packaging loses on liters but wins on units: 7,200 retail packs from a single pallet.

How to calculate your order

From tonnes of product to pallet count

Packers think in kilograms, packaging warehouses in units, and freight carriers in pallets. If you go step by step, a calculator brings all three together in a couple of minutes. The product densities below are approximate, so for your own recipe it's best to weigh a liter during a trial fill.

1Step 1. Convert your plan into liters: divide kilograms by the weight per liter. Honey is about 1.42 kg, jam 1.33, pickles in brine 1.05, sour cream 1.0, and mayonnaise 0.94.
2Step 2. Divide liters by the bucket's nominal capacity and round up. Add a small margin for test runs and filling line setup.
3Step 3. Divide the number of buckets by the quantity per pallet from the table. The fraction is a partial pallet: discuss what goes on it with our sales manager.
4Honey example: 10 t in 1 L buckets comes to about 7,043 buckets, or one full pallet of 6,480 plus another 563 buckets.
5Mayonnaise example: 3 t in 5.6 L buckets at 5.3 kg each comes to about 570 buckets, less than a third of a 1,920-unit pallet.

Where the numbers come from

Why a pallet holds anywhere from 180 to 7,200 units

How much packaging fits on a pallet depends less on its size than on its shape. A tapered bucket without a lid tucks into the next one, while a jerry can with a closed body takes up its full volume. Here are four things that explain the numbers in the table and help you plan warehouse space.

Nesting

Buckets taper toward the bottom, so empty ones stack inside each other, and each extra bucket adds only a little height. That's the big difference from jerry cans: a pallet holds 1,920 of the 5.6 L buckets but only 180 of the 5 L jerry cans, less than a tenth as many for a similar capacity.

Jerry cans: 180 and 100

Jerry cans don't nest: they have a closed body, a neck, and a molded-in handle. A pallet of 5 L cans adds up to 900 L of capacity, and a pallet of 10 L cans to 1,000 L. It doesn't weigh much, about 43 and 42 kg of plastic respectively, but it takes up a lot of space in the truck.

Containers and trays

The 250, 385, 400, and 550 ml containers and the 750 ml tray are very light: 13 to 21 g each. How many fit on a pallet depends on the item's shape and packing, so our sales manager gives the exact figure in the estimate. Delis and food delivery services find it convenient to order them in one shipment with buckets for prepped ingredients.

Pallet weight

Empty packaging is light: a pallet of 21 L buckets is about 372 kg of plastic, and a pallet of 1 L buckets about 233 kg. Metal bail handles add weight: on the 18 L size the handle weighs 60 g, which adds another 36 kg across 600 buckets. With empty packaging, a truck usually fills up by volume before it reaches its weight limit.

Logistics

Pallets from our factory to your warehouse

Once you know the number of pallets, all that's left is choosing how to get them. Pickup is from the factory warehouse in Ak-Chiy village, Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ), in your own truck or a carrier's. Customers in Bishkek and the Chuy Region get their pallets on our own delivery trucks. Pallets go to Osh, Jalal-Abad, Karakol, Naryn, Talas, and other cities in Kyrgyzstan through a freight carrier. For Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, and other cities in Kazakhstan, we ship by the pallet within the EAEU. Our sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when you place your order, and an exact pallet count makes that conversation much easier. If your order is mixed, list the sizes and quantity of each, so the estimate covers the whole shipment at once.

Frequently asked questions about packaging per pallet

6,480 units. The same number of 800 ml buckets fits too. A pallet of 1 L buckets weighs about 233 kg, excluding handles and the pallet itself.

Empty jerry cans don't nest inside each other: they have a closed body with a neck and a handle. That's why a pallet holds 180 of the 5 L jerry cans or 100 of the 10 L ones.

It depends on the model and packing. Our sales manager gives the exact figure for the 250 to 550 ml containers and the 750 ml tray in the estimate. The items themselves are light, 13 to 21 g each.

Our sales manager will confirm the order size and what goes on a partial pallet. Tell us the quantity you need for each size, and we'll suggest how to put the shipment together.

Our sales manager prices each order individually: the price depends on bucket size, quantity, handle, and printing. Call +996 222 600 292 and tell us how many pallets or buckets you need, and you'll get a quote for your order.

Yes. Buckets with in-mold labeling (IML) or ready for your label ship the same way, by the pallet. Discuss the run size for branded packaging and how to split different designs across pallets with our sales manager.
