Dairy packaging lineup

Packaging for dairy plants and small dairies

A dairy plant rarely gets by with just one bucket. Sour cream goes to stores in half-kilogram portions, cottage cheese goes to delis and cafes, and suzma and kaymak go to the bazaar. Part of the output is also processed in an adjacent shop. HTI Group covers all of these needs with one lineup: 250 and 400 ml containers and buckets from 560 ml to 11.5 L. Everything is made of polypropylene and ships from one warehouse in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ). We combine your order into one shipment across Kyrgyzstan or to Kazakhstan.

Build your order: from the retail case to the processing floor

Your plant has eight work areas, and each one gets its own packaging item. Set the number of pallets for each area, and the calculator adds up units, liters, and the share of a truck. The "Starter set" button adds the three items most plants start with.

What packaging each area of the plant needs

A dairy plant splits its output by sales channel, not by liter: store display, family purchase, bazaar sales by weight, cafe kitchen, and its own processing room. For each channel, the table lists the product, packaging, and size, with a link to the page with dimensions. Empty weight helps the technologist who calculates gross package weight for the label and waybill.

The first five rows are retail, where looks, the OPEN seal, and how the pack sits on a shelf matter most. The last three are bulk packaging, where buyers value a metal bail handle, a wide opening, and a lid that can be opened dozens of times per shift. Plastic use per kilogram of sour cream for each bucket is calculated on the buckets for dairy products page.

    How purchasing works

Four decisions a plant makes only once

Once your lineup is set, you order packaging on a schedule, with no rush orders. But before the first order, your technologist, marketer, and buyer need to agree on a few things. Here is what we usually ask a dairy plant when we prepare the first estimate.

Bulk packaging for the kitchen11.5 L: 816 buckets per pallet
    How much stock to keep

Small buckets nest tightly: a pallet of 560 ml buckets holds 7,200 units, and a pallet of 800 ml buckets holds 6,480. If you fill 800 buckets of sour cream a day, one pallet of 560 ml buckets lasts nine shifts. With this math, you order packaging by the calendar instead of buying extra boxes at the last minute.

    One brand on every bucket

Shoppers should recognize your plant both from a small bucket in a store and from an 11.5 L bucket in a cafe kitchen. On buckets, we apply the logo with in-mold labeling (IML): the label is fused into the wall during molding. The image looks the same from batch to batch and becomes part of the body. Containers and trial orders are marked with a label.

    Shelf protection

The OPEN tamper-evident tear strip, with raised lettering under the lid rim, tears off when the bucket is first opened. A chain store uses it to quickly spot a bucket opened on the sales floor. And when a complaint comes in, the plant has clear evidence: an intact seal means no one touched the sour cream after filling.

    Mixed shipment

We combine containers, small buckets, and large buckets into one order and one truck. You can add 5 and 10 L jerry cans to the same shipment if your plant needs packaging for water or detergents. They are not used for the dairy products themselves: sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, and ayran go into wide-mouth packaging.

    How to choose

Where to start with a new dairy's lineup

A new plant often tries to cover every format at once and ties up money in packaging that sits unused for months. It is smarter to start with three items and add sizes based on actual sales. Here is a sequence that works for most dairy producers.

1Start with a retail bucket for sour cream: a 560 ml bucket 80 mm tall or an 800 ml bucket 91 mm tall. Both fit on a low display shelf.560 ml bucket800 ml bucket
2Second, a 5.6 L kitchen bucket for cafes and canteens: the top is 224 mm across, so a ladle fits easily.5.6 L bucket
3Third, a 400 ml portion container or a 250 ml one for yogurt and cottage cheese desserts.250 ml container400 ml container
4Then add items as demand grows: a 900 ml bucket with molded-in handle for suzma and large buckets for wholesalers.900 ml bucket
5For tamper evidence and printing across the lineup, see buckets with OPEN seal and IML-printed buckets.

    Logistics

Packaging delivered on your production schedule

Your filling line should never stop because you ran out of buckets. That is why regular shipments work better for dairy plants than one-off orders. You can pick up pallets from the HTI warehouse in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone, Ak-Chiy village. Our own delivery trucks bring packaging to plants in Bishkek and Chuy Region, including Kant, Tokmok, and Kara-Balta. Buckets and containers travel to Karakol, Naryn, Talas, Osh, and Jalal-Abad with a freight carrier. We ship by the pallet within the EAEU to dairy producers in Kazakhstan, from Almaty and Shymkent to Astana and Karaganda. Your sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when you place your order. Plan your shipment schedule before the summer jailoo (mountain pasture) season, when plants receive the most milk.

    Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions from dairy plants

Didn't find your answer?A sales manager replies Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Bishkek time

Three are usually enough: a 560 or 800 ml bucket for retail sour cream, a 5.6 L bucket for cafes, and a 250 or 400 ml container for single-serve products. Add other sizes once you see what sells best.

Thick yogurt won't pour out of a narrow neck, so it goes into wide-mouth containers and buckets. Liquid drinks like ayran and kumis also sell in 5 and 10 L jerry cans: see the separate page on jerry cans for kumis and ayran. Test a trial batch with your own product first.

Your sales manager quotes each order based on sizes, quantity, handles, and printing. Send us your product list and approximate weekly output, and we will estimate the whole lineup at once. Phone: +996 222 600 292.

Yes, with IML: the label is fused into the wall during molding, so your brand looks the same on 560 ml, 900 ml, and 11.5 L buckets. We prepare the artwork for each size together with your sales manager. Details are on the IML printing page.

As long as the seal under the rim is intact, the lid has not been removed. Stores quickly reject opened buckets at receiving and on the sales floor, and the plant gets a simple answer to the question of where the pack was opened.

Yes, we ship by the pallet within the EAEU to Almaty, Shymkent, Astana, Karaganda, and other cities. Containers and buckets of different sizes travel in one truck. Your sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when you place your order.

The 5.6 L bucket comes with a metal bail handle or, on request, a plastic handle. From 8 L up, buckets have a metal bail handle with a plastic grip. The grip doesn't dig into your palm when a cook carries a full bucket of sour cream from the storeroom to the kitchen.
