The headspace to the brim is modest here - 300 milliliters, about 8% over the nominal capacity. The body is narrow and tall, so extra volume builds up slowly, unlike wide buckets that leave 1.5 liters or more to the brim. For automatic filling this is more of a plus: the product level in the bucket is predictable.

Densities are approximate. For mayonnaise they depend heavily on the recipe, for honey on the variety and moisture content. Give our manager the actual figure and the net weight will be recalculated exactly. The calculation assumes 2,800 buckets per pallet.

Trailers and containers are calculated on standard internal dimensions, with single-stacked pallets (no double stacking). Your sales manager will confirm the price and lead time for the order.
Applications
Typical uses for the 3.8 L bucket
Almost 4 liters is a pack size for small-scale wholesale: food service, delis, small producers. The bucket can be lifted with one hand even when full, and 2,800 fit on a pallet, so a small plant's monthly needs often fit on one or two pallets.
Mayonnaise and sauces
3.5 kg in one bucket: a popular format for food service and delis. The tight-fitting lid with its tamper-evident strip shows whether the bucket has been opened.
Honey for wholesale
Just over 5 kg net. The clear version shows the color of the honey through the wall, and the bucket can go on the counter as it is.
Pickles and preserves
Cucumbers, wild garlic, cabbage, mushrooms. The 300 milliliter headspace absorbs brine expansion when it cools.
Emulsion and varnish
5.7 kg of paint or coating at a density of 1.5. The steel handle carries the full weight, and the narrow 200 millimeter opening means less drying in the air when working with a brush.

Lid, handle, color, and printing
Lid
Supplied with the bucket, it seats inside the rim and opens via a tamper-evident tear strip. The strip is molded onto the bucket wall and stays in place after the lid is removed, so an opened bucket is obvious straight away.
Handle
Two options. The 13.4 gram steel bail handle comes without a plastic grip: a fully filled bucket weighs under 6 kg, so a grip is not needed here. The 5 gram plastic handle is for cases where no metal is allowed in the packaging. The medical version always has a plastic handle.
Color
White bodies are chosen for labels and full-surface printing, clear ones for honey and pickles, when the contents act as their own display. The medical version comes in yellow and red.
Printing
Adhesive labels for small orders, IML for regular runs. With IML the film is fused into the wall at the moment of molding and survives washing and the cold store.

Next to it in the range are the 3 and 5.6 liter buckets. The 3-liter is especially worth comparing: it has the same top diameter and the same pallet quantity, so the whole difference comes down to body height.
The 3-liter and 3.8 liter buckets take up the same pallet space but carry different amounts of product: 8,400 liters versus 10,640. On packaging per liter the 3.8 liter is also more economical - 28.9 grams versus 31.7.
