303 millimeters across the top with a body height of 292: on this bucket, diameter and height are almost equal. Every size below it in the range is noticeably wider than it is tall; the 21-liter is already taller than it is wide. The 15-liter size sits right at the turning point. The headspace to the brim is 1.56 liters: the nominal 15 liters is the working fill, and the bucket holds 16.56 to the very top.

Logistics by volume
How much product ships on one pallet
The pallet quantity alone tells you nothing: what matters is how many liters of product fit in one pallet space. Here are the figures for the three largest sizes, and they do not work out the way common sense suggests.
- 15 liters and 11.5 liters stack on a pallet identically, 816 buckets each. But one pallet space carries 12,240 liters of product versus 9,384: 2,856 liters more with the same pallet footprint.
- The 18-liter bucket holds more, but fewer of them fit on a pallet: 600 versus 816. In liters of product that is 10,800 versus 12,240, so the 15-liter comes out ahead.
- The reason is diameter. The 15-liter bucket measures 303 millimeters across, the 18-liter 332: fewer buckets fit on the pallet footprint, and the extra volume does not make up for it.
- Only the 21-liter bucket gives more liters per pallet in the range: 12,600. The difference from the 15-liter is just 360 liters, about 3%.
Applications
Typical uses for the 15 L bucket
15 liters is chosen where buckets are shipped rather than carried: dairies, paint manufacturers and apiaries in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. A full bucket of paint weighs 22.5 kilograms - you can lift it, but you would not want to haul it up scaffolding every day. On a pallet, though, it carries more product than any other bucket in the range except the 21-liter.
Paint and primer
22.5 kilograms of water-based paint in a single bucket, and 44 buckets per tonne. The steel bail handle with plastic grip takes the full weight, and the grip turns in your palm instead of cutting into it.
Cottage cheese and dairy products
Just over 15 kilograms at a density of 1.05. Polypropylene withstands washing and cold storage, and the tight-fitting lid keeps out foreign odors.
Putty and mastic
Ready-mixed putty, concrete primer and waterproofing mastic. The 263 millimeter base keeps the bucket steady while you work from it with a trowel.
Honey extraction
21 kilograms net: a bucket for the settling room, not for carrying around the apiary. The 1.56 liter headspace to the brim absorbs expansion when temperatures change.
Components
Lid, bail handle, color, and printing
Lid
Supplied with the bucket, it seats on the inner rim. It opens via a tamper-evident tear strip molded onto the body itself, which stays in place even after the lid is removed. The strip cannot be put back, so you can always tell whether the container has been opened.
Bail handle
Galvanized steel wire, 40 grams, with a white plastic grip in the middle. A full fill of paint weighs over 20 kilograms, and at that weight the grip really earns its keep: it turns under your fingers instead of letting the wire dig into your palm. A plastic handle version is not made for this size.
Color
Two versions. White goes to paints and coatings and to full-surface printing across the whole wall. Clear is chosen when the product needs to be visible through the wall: honey, cottage cheese, brine.
Printing
This bucket is branded with an adhesive label: it is applied to the finished body and works even for small orders. In-mold IML film and offset printing are not available for 15 liters. If you need the artwork directly on the wall, see the neighboring sizes, 11.5 and 18 liters.

Fifteen liters or a nearby size
The nearest sizes in the range are 11.5 and 18 liters. Comparing them on volume alone makes no sense: each of the three has a differently shaped body, and the pallet quantity does not behave the way the liters would suggest.
The 11.5 and 15 liter buckets share one pallet quantity, 816, because their diameters almost match: 295 and 303 millimeters. Only the height differs, 234 versus 292. So for the same logistics cost, a pallet of 15-liter buckets carries 12,240 liters of product versus 9,384. On packaging per liter, by contrast, the 11.5 liter wins: 26.7 grams versus 30.0. The 18-liter is wider than both, and only 600 fit on a pallet.
