Packaging for paint plants and coatings workshops
A paint plant makes a whole range, not a single product. You sell tinting pastes and varnishes by the liter, enamels in 2-3 liters, and primers and water-based paints in 5-21 liters. A hardware store shopper picks between brands in seconds. Then a crew carries the bucket up the stairs to the job site. HTI Group molds buckets from 1 to 21 liters for this range, with one in-mold labeling (IML) design and a metal bail handle with plastic grip from 8 liters. The bucket as your brand in the hardware store
In a hardware store, a row of paint buckets is a row of logos. A plant that gives every size the same design fills a solid block on the shelf. It looks bigger than competitors with mismatched packaging. Here is what makes up such a range.
One design from 1 L to 21 L
The IML film goes into the mold and fuses with the wall during molding. Your logo, brand color, and shade field look the same on every size. A paint drip wipes off with a rag without harming the image. Your sales manager helps you prepare the artwork for each size.
Space for the shade code
For a tinting system, leave a blank field on the IML artwork for a color code sticker. One base covers all shades, and the store marks the color after tinting. So you don't need to order separate packaging for every shade in your catalog.
No opened buckets on the shelf
The OPEN tamper-evident tear strip under the lid rim shows whether the bucket was opened. The clerk sees that a shopper looked inside to check the shade and sets the bucket aside. Your plant gets fewer complaints about a dried top layer.
Handle by product weight
Up to 5.6 liters, a metal bail handle without a grip or a plastic handle is enough. From 8 liters, we fit a bail handle with a plastic grip: paint is heavy, and crews carry full buckets up the stairs by hand. If your buyers prefer packaging without metal, a plastic handle is available on sizes up to 5.6 liters.

At a paint plant, each product group sells in its own size. The table shows typical product and bucket pairs, plus numbers for purchasing: how many buckets and how many pallets of empty packaging you need per 10,000 liters of output. The last column shows how much warehouse space to keep for buckets when you shift output from small packs to large ones or back.

Per liter of product, the 21 L bucket takes the least warehouse space, and the 1 L and 8 L buckets take the most: almost twice as much. That is no reason to drop small packs, since tints and varnishes make your brand recognizable on the shelf. Still, keep this gap in mind when you plan packaging storage. How to choose
How to build a lineup for a new brand
A new paint brand rarely launches in eight sizes at once. Three or four are usually enough, and you expand the range as dealers order more. Here is what technologists and marketers at paint plants take into account.

Paint demand climbs from spring, so it pays to stock packaging before the peak instead of chasing output. Empty buckets nest inside each other, so your winter stock takes a corner of the warehouse, not the whole shop floor. Pick up full pallets from the HTI warehouse in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ), Ak-Chiy village. Our own delivery trucks serve plants in Bishkek and Chuy Region. Buckets go to Osh, Jalal-Abad, Karakol, Naryn, and Talas by freight carrier. We ship by the pallet to paint and coatings producers in Almaty, Shymkent, Astana, Karaganda, and Aktobe within the EAEU.
