Another figure here is the best in the lineup, though: each nominal liter takes 24.2 g of plastic, less than any other HTI medical bucket.

How much operating room or delivery room waste fits in one bucket depends on what that waste is, and we won't make up a count of syringes or dressings. For purchasing, a different calculation is more useful: how many buckets of each size it takes to reach a thousand liters of capacity, and how much plastic and space that means.
Bucket counts are rounded up to whole units, and weights are based on each item's catalog weight. A thousand liters of capacity in 11.2 liter buckets weighs the least: 24.4 kg of empty packaging. Typical uses for the 11.2 L bucket
Eleven liters suits departments where waste builds up fast and emptying small containers every half hour is impractical: operating suites, delivery rooms, and central laboratories. The bucket is short, just 217 mm tall, with a wide 256 mm base, so it stands right on the floor by the workstation.
Operating suites
In operating and pre-op rooms, waste comes in a steady stream and small containers fill up quickly. The 11.2 liter bucket holds almost three times as much as the 3.8 liter one and stands on the floor next to the table.
Maternity hospitals
Delivery rooms and postnatal wards run around the clock, so they need a roomy container for Class B waste (by Kyrgyz sanitary classification). For maternity hospitals in Bishkek, Osh, Almaty, or Shymkent, a large size with the lid included is the practical choice.
Large laboratories
Central and clinical diagnostic laboratories handle used needles and disinfectant wipes in large volumes. Yellow and red buckets keep the waste streams apart according to the lab's own procedure.
Carrying out a full bucket
The handle is sturdier than on the smaller sizes: 12.8 g versus 5.2 g on the 5.6 liter bucket. There is no metal in either the handle or the body.

Lid
It comes with the bucket. The yellow body takes a yellow lid with a round red panel in the middle. The red body comes with an all-red lid, with no inserts in another color.
OPEN seal
A molded OPEN marking sits on the body's tamper-evident tear strip. A torn strip clearly shows that the bucket has already been opened.
Handle
Plastic, 12.8 g, the same as on the 11.5 and 21 liter medical buckets. This version has no steel bail handle or plastic grip.
Facility name
You can put the name of the maternity hospital, laboratory, or department right on the bucket. We apply a label with the name to the finished body.
Food-grade version

Our lineup has no 11.2 liter food-grade bucket; the closest food-grade size is 11.5 liters. That's the one to order for a maternity hospital's catering unit or a hospital kitchen: it's white, with a tight-fitting lid, and has the same 816 pcs per pallet.
