A food-grade 5.6 liter plastic bucket with a metal handle and a tight-fitting lid with a tamper-evident tear strip. It sits in the middle of our range and is used for honey, mayonnaise, pickles, sour cream, varnish and enamel. The bucket comes in two versions built on the same body: food-grade and medical. Dimensions, volume and pallet quantity are identical; the purpose, color and handle differ. Every 5.6 liter bucket we supply to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan is molded at our plant in Bishkek.

Here the gap between the nominal capacity and the ISO volume is small: 270 ml. The nominal 5.6 L is the working fill, while the bucket holds 5.87 L to the brim. The headspace lets the lid seat without squeezing product out.

Applications
Typical uses for the 5.6 L bucket
5.6 liters is a size that works equally well on the shop counter and on the production floor. 8 kg of honey or about 6 kg of sour cream: the bucket is still easy to carry in one hand, yet packing into it already works out cheaper than using small containers. It is popular with apiaries, preserve makers, delis and paint and coatings manufacturers.
Honey and jam
An 8 kilogram bulk pack, bought both for market stalls and for processing. The tight-fitting lid keeps moisture out, and the metal handle carries the full weight.
Pickles and preserves
Cucumbers, wild garlic, mushrooms and mixed pickles for markets in Bishkek, Osh and Shymkent. The 270 ml headspace stops brine from pushing the lid off when temperatures change.
Mayonnaise, sauces, sour cream
A format for delis, canteens and small kitchens: an opened bucket is used up within a shift, so the rest has no time to dry out.
Varnish, enamel, primer
Polypropylene does not react with water-based formulations. The 21.4 gram steel bail handle carries a full bucket of paint.
Components
Lid, handle, color, and printing
Lid
Supplied with the bucket, it seats firmly on the rim and opens via the tear strip. The strip cannot be resealed, so any opening is obvious at once.
Handle
Your choice of handle: a 21.4 gram steel bail handle without a plastic grip, or a 5.2 gram plastic one. A full 5.6 liter bucket weighs about 6 kg, so dense products call for metal, while plastic is enough for lighter ones. The medical version comes with a plastic handle only.
Color
White buckets are chosen for labels and full-surface printing; clear ones for pickles and honey, when the contents do the selling.
Printing
A label is applied to the finished bucket, while IML goes on in the mold: the image is fused into the wall during molding and survives both washing and the freezer.
Medical version
