The body is wider than it is tall: 332 millimeters across the rim at a height of 286. The headspace here is generous at 1.9 liters: the nominal 18 liters is the working fill, while the bucket holds 19.9 filled to the very top. That margin is taken up by the lid, which sits inside the rim, and by the product expanding when frozen.

Densities are typical values: our sales manager will recalculate the net weight for your recipe using actual data. Pallet figures assume 600 buckets. A full bucket of putty weighs over 30 kilograms including the packaging, so factor that into your manual handling limits.

Trailers and containers are calculated on standard internal dimensions, with single-stacked pallets (no double stacking). Your sales manager will confirm the price and lead time for the order.
Applications
Typical uses for the 18 L bucket
18 liters is the size for anyone who carries buckets by hand. A full bucket of paint weighs 27 kilograms, about the most you can still lift onto scaffolding or carry into an apartment. Most demand comes from paint and coatings manufacturers, construction crews and apiaries in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Paint and emulsion
27 kilograms of water-based paint in a single bucket, and 37 buckets per tonne. The steel bail handle with a plastic grip takes the full weight, and the grip turns in your palm instead of cutting into it.
Putty and mastic
Ready-mixed putty, concrete primer, bitumen and waterproofing mastics. The 278 millimeter base keeps the bucket steady on a stepladder or scaffold board.
Honey extraction
A container for the honey extractor and for storage before packing: 25.6 kilograms per bucket. The tight-fitting lid with a tamper-evident seal keeps moisture out of the honey between extraction and bottling.
Preserves and bulk handling
Cucumbers, cabbage, wild garlic and mixed pickles moved between workshops. The 1.9 liter headspace holds the brine when temperatures change.

Lid, handle, color, and printing
Lid
Supplied with the bucket and sits inside the rim all the way round. It opens via a tamper-evident tear strip and cannot be closed again, so any opening shows at once.
Handle
A 60 gram steel bail handle with a white plastic grip. At 18 liters it is load-bearing: a full bucket of putty weighs over 30 kilograms. A plastic handle in this size is only fitted to the medical version.
Color
White is the choice for labels and full-surface printing. Clear is for products that need to be visible through the wall without opening the bucket.
Printing
A label is applied to the finished bucket, while IML is fused into the wall during molding. On a large body IML holds up better: the image does not rub off against neighboring buckets on the pallet. 18 liters is one of two sizes where offset printing is also available, with a template for it in the 3D configurator.
Medical version
18 L medical bucket: the same body
For hospitals, laboratories and clinics that dispose of waste in bulk rather than one container at a time.

18 L or a nearby size
The neighboring sizes in the range are 15 and 21 liters. Look beyond the nominal capacity: the 18 and 21 liter buckets share both diameters and the pallet quantity, while the 15-liter bucket is narrower and stacks differently.
The 15-liter bucket is narrower, so a pallet holds 816 of them versus 600. If your order is costed by truck space, that is a strong argument. On the other hand, 18 liters beats both neighbors on plastic per liter: 29.2 grams versus 30.0 and 29.5.
Choose a size
When to choose 18 L and when 21 L
These two buckets share the same top and bottom diameters, 332 and 278 millimeters, and the same pallet quantity of 600. The only difference is body height: 286 millimeters versus 333.5. So the choice comes down not to pallet space but to how the bucket is carried.
Takes the same space
Same diameter, same 600 per pallet. An order of 18 liter buckets takes up exactly as much truck space as the same order of 21 liter buckets.
Lighter when full
18 liters of paint is 27 kilograms net; 21 liters is already 31.5. You feel those 4.5 kilograms when the bucket is carried by hand rather than moved by forklift.
47 mm shorter body
286 millimeters versus 333.5 at the same diameter. The bucket slides more easily under a shelf and is easier to scoop from when it stands on the floor.
Less plastic per liter
29.2 grams of packaging per liter of product, the most economical of the three largest sizes in the range. The 15-liter bucket uses 30.0 grams and the 21-liter bucket 29.5.
A simple rule. If your product ships by the pallet and moves by forklift, choose 21 liters: in the same space you carry 3 extra liters in every bucket. If the bucket is picked up by hand on site, in the workshop or at the apiary, choose 18 liters: when full, it is almost 5 kilograms lighter.
