Kitchen and dining packaging

HoReCa packaging: cafes, restaurants, and catering

A cafe or restaurant kitchen uses packaging at three stations at once: the prep kitchen, the pass, and takeout packing. Many venues look for a separate supplier for each, but you can get the whole lineup from one factory. We make 560 ml to 21 L buckets for prep and sauces, 250 and 400 ml containers and 750 ml trays for delivery, and 5 and 10 L jerry cans for oil and water. HTI molds this packaging in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and ships it to venues across Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Kitchen, cold room, courier, and catered events

In food service, packaging works harder than in any home kitchen. Cooks open and close it dozens of times per shift, wash it, and carry it from the cold room to the line and back. So chefs and buyers look beyond liters: they check how a container handles in a cook's hands. Here are four stations where the difference shows most.

Off-site banquetThe 15 L bucket weighs 450 g and holds 16.56 L brim-full
Prep without transferring

Cook a sauce or marinade right in the bucket, store it in the cold room, and send it to the line in the same bucket. The bucket opens across its full width, and the body tapers toward the bottom, so a ladle scoops out every last bit. Fewer transfers mean fewer dirty dishes at the sink and less product lost on the walls.

Organized shelves

When prep is stored in buckets of two or three sizes, cooks spot the right one at a glance. A white lid is easy to mark with the date and name, and a clear body shows the contents without opening. Empty buckets nest inside each other and take up almost no space in the storeroom.

Takeout and delivery

Takeout orders need lightweight items: a 250 ml container weighs 13 g, and a 750 ml tray weighs 21 g. Matching them to your menu is covered on the food delivery containers page. What matters here is that you can order them together with buckets and jerry cans, from one warehouse in one shipment.

Oil and cleaning

Keep frying oil and water in 10 L jerry cans: a screw cap closes the neck, and the handle is molded in one piece with the body. Store cleaning products in separate 5 L jerry cans with a clearly visible label on the flat front panel. Never mix food and cleaning packaging in the kitchen.

Coffee shop, cafe, delivery: packaging by the pallet

A coffee shop needs just a couple of items, while a cafe with a full kitchen and delivery will use almost every line. Pick your format: the calculator marks the stations, and you adjust the number of pallets with the buttons.

    How to plan your purchase

A packaging set for your type of venue

What you buy depends not on the number of seats, but on what you cook in-house and what you sell for takeout. A coffee shop that buys desserts from a pastry shop needs just a couple of items. A restaurant serving traditional local cuisine with delivery and banquets will use almost every line in the table.

3Catering and banquet halls: large buckets of 15-21 L with a plastic grip on the bail handle, so staff can easily carry full buckets from the van to the hall.
4Signature sauce or salad for retail: a 560 or 850 ml bucket with tamper evidence and your venue's logo.
5Multi-location chains: one packaging spec for every kitchen, so a cook transferred to another branch finds everything in its usual place.

    What packaging each station needs

Walk through your venue from the receiving door to the courier pickup window, and every station needs its own container. Below is a typical setup for a cafe with a full kitchen, delivery, and off-site banquets. Empty weight helps when your buyer estimates monthly supplies and compares offers.

Eight lines is the maximum for a venue with delivery and banquets; a small coffee shop needs three or four items. Take a closer look at the 3 and 3.8 L buckets: both have the same 200 mm opening, so they take up the same footprint on a cold room shelf and differ only in height. Choose different sizes of jerry cans for oil and for cleaning products, so no one mixes them up even at rush hour.

    Logistics

Buckets, containers, and jerry cans in one order

Receiving packaging from three suppliers on different days is a hassle for any venue, so you can order HTI buckets, containers, and jerry cans together. Buckets and containers ship in nested stacks, while jerry cans do not nest, and your sales manager accounts for this when planning the pallets. Pickup is available from the factory warehouse in the Bishkek FEZ, Ak-Chiy village. Cafes in Bishkek and Chuy Region receive orders on our own delivery trucks. For restaurants in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Karakol, and the Issyk-Kul resorts, we ship via a freight carrier. Venues and caterers in Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent receive pallets within the EAEU. Our sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when placing your order. Before the summer season at Issyk-Kul, it makes sense to stock up on packaging in advance.

    Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about packaging for cafes and restaurants

Didn't find your answer?A sales manager replies Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Bishkek time

Four are usually enough: a 1 L bucket for sauces at the pass, a 3.8 L bucket for prep, a 10 L jerry can for oil, and a 250 ml container for takeout. When you start delivering main courses, add a 750 ml tray, and for banquets, buckets from 11.5 L.

Keep cleaning products only in jerry cans of one size, for example 5 L, and oil in 10 L ones. Stick the label on the flat front panel of the jerry can. Never use food-grade buckets for chemicals in your venue, even after washing.

Yes, small 560 or 850 ml buckets work well for this. Under the lid rim there is an OPEN tamper-evident tear strip: while it is intact, your guest knows the package has not been opened since it left the kitchen. Your venue name and ingredients go on with a label or in-mold labeling (IML).

One with a metal bail handle and plastic grip: it comes on sizes from 8 L and does not cut into your palm. Caterers usually carry salads and cold cuts in 11.5 or 15 L buckets, and sides and large prep batches in 18 or 21 L buckets.

Your sales manager calculates the price for each order based on sizes, quantity of each item, handle type, and printing. If you need buckets, containers, and jerry cans at once, send the list in one message, and you will get a single estimate.

Yes. On buckets, we use a label or IML, where the label is fused into the wall during molding. For a small batch of signature sauces, a label is the easier start; for ongoing production, switch to IML. Learn more on the IML printing page.

Yes, by the pallet within the EAEU: to Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, and other cities. We combine buckets, containers, and jerry cans into one shipment, and your sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when placing the order.
