Scrubs, masks, salts

Cosmetics packaging: buckets for scrubs, masks, and bath salts

Customers scoop scrubs, bath salts, cosmetic clay, and masks out by hand or with a spatula, so these products need a wide jar with a tight-fitting lid, not a pump bottle. In the Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ), HTI Group molds small buckets from 560 ml to 1 L for retail and 2.3 to 11.5 L buckets for salons and manufacturers. A white body carries your brand, a clear one shows off the color of the salt and the grain of the scrub, and the OPEN tamper-evident tear strip tells customers that no one has opened the jar before them.

How to choose

Five questions before you order packaging

Cosmetic brands usually start with one or two products and expand the line fast. To avoid switching packaging midstream, answer these questions up front. Whether polypropylene suits a particular formula is for the brand's formulator to decide after a trial fill: we don't assess compatibility with individual ingredients remotely.

1How much product per purchase? A month's supply of body butter or mask: 560 ml; salt for several baths: 800 ml or 1 L.560 ml bucket800 ml bucket1 L bucket
2Who opens it: a customer at home or a therapist at a salon? For salons, go with 2.3 L or 5.6 L with a bail handle.2.3 L bucket5.6 L bucket
3What sells the product: its color or your brand name? For the first, choose a clear body; for the second, white.
4Do you need a handle? The 800 ml comes with a plastic or molded-in handle, the one-liter with a plastic handle, and the 560 ml is made only with side lugs, which gives it a cleaner, more minimal look.560 ml bucket800 ml bucket
5Planning a mini size? The hexagonal 250 ml container weighs 13 g and is just right for a small amount of mask.250 ml container

Product and size

Which size for which product

Home skincare sells in portions that last a few weeks, while massage therapists and spas buy the same products in bulk. Below are the most popular sizes with top diameter and height, so you can see whether a hand or spatula fits through the opening and whether the jar will fit on a narrow bathroom shelf. The last column shows how many empty buckets ship on one pallet.

The low 560 ml bucket sits comfortably in the palm when body butter or a mask is scooped out with the fingers right in the shower. The 850 ml has the same 118 mm opening but is 44 mm taller, leaving room to stir a scrub with a spoon. Professional sizes start at 2.3 L: a therapist opens the bucket dozens of times a day, so a bail handle and a wide opening matter more than shelf appeal.

Scrub, mask, bath salt: the size for each product

Body butter and masks sell in small portions, bath salt by the liter, and spas buy clay by the bucket. Tap a product: the tool shows the packaging to scale, with top diameter, height, and handle. "Per shelf" counts how many fit in a row on a store shelf.

Why not a bottle

Where a bucket beats a bottle or tube

Shampoo and shower gel are poured; salt, scrub, and clay are scooped. These products need packaging that opens full width, holds up in a humid bathroom, and still looks good after dozens of openings. Here are four situations where natural cosmetics workshops and salons choose a plastic bucket.

White 5.6 L plastic bucket with metal bail handle and lid on a wooden shelf in a spa back room, next to a stack of white towels
Spa back room5.6 L: 224 mm opening, 156 g empty weight
Wet hands in the shower

Scrubs and masks get opened in the bathroom, often with wet hands. A polypropylene jar won't shatter on the tile if it slips, and the flat lid snaps into the double rim to keep out splashes. The side lugs on the 560 ml bucket make it easy to hold in one hand.

Color on display

Pink salt, blue and green clay, and coffee scrub with crushed apricot pits sell themselves on color and texture. In a clear bucket, customers see the texture without lifting the lid, while in a white one the same product promotes your brand with a label or in-mold labeling (IML).

Massage studios and spas

Massage therapists and skincare specialists go through scrub and salt by the kilo, so small jars just mean extra cost and waste for them. They scoop the product into a bowl with a spatula from a 2.3 or 5.6 L bucket and put the lid back on until the next client.

Buying sight unseen

Skincare is often ordered online or bought at craft fairs, where nobody has handled the product before paying. The OPEN tamper-evident tear strip under the rim shows that the jar hasn't been opened since filling and that no testers were taken from it.

Logistics

Packaging for small workshops and full-scale production

A small workshop doesn't need a truckload of packaging: empty buckets nest in stacks, and 7,200 of the 560 ml size fit on one pallet. You can pick up your order at the factory in the Bishkek FEZ, Ak-Chiy village, and our own trucks deliver across Bishkek and Chuy Region. Buckets go to Osh, Jalal-Abad, Karakol, and other cities in Kyrgyzstan via a freight carrier. For cosmetic brands in Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, and Karaganda, we ship by the pallet within the EAEU. Your sales manager will tell you how long delivery takes and what it costs when you place your order. For New Year's and International Women's Day (March 8) gift sets, it's wise to order packaging well in advance.

Questions and answers

What cosmetics brands ask about

Didn't find your answer?A sales manager replies Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Bishkek time

For retail, the 850 ml is the most common choice: scrub is scooped out with the fingers, and a tall bucket with a 118 mm opening is easy to hold. If the product gets used up fast, a one-liter bucket with a plastic handle works well. For therapists and salons, the 2.3 L is more practical.

Yes. Salt is a dry, free-flowing product, and a bucket with a tight-fitting lid keeps it sealed off from bathroom humidity. For portion sales, choose 800 ml or one liter; for spas, 5.6 L with a bail handle.

The bucket is molded from food-grade polypropylene, but we don't assess compatibility with specific ingredients remotely. Fill a trial batch of buckets with your product and monitor it before launching full production: the packaging decision rests with the brand's formulator.

Our sales manager prices each order based on size, body color, handle, quantity, and printing. Call +996 222 600 292 and list the products in your line, and we'll work out packaging for every item at once.

Yes. For a first run, a label on the finished bucket is the easy option; for ongoing production, choose IML: a printed film is fused into the wall during molding and won't rub off under wet hands. Learn more about the technology on our IML printing page.

Yes, by the pallet within the EAEU to Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, and other cities. Retail jars and salon sizes can go out in one shipment, and your sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when you place the order.

They share the same 118 mm opening but differ in height: 80 mm and 124 mm. The low bucket suits body butters and masks scooped out with a finger; the tall one suits scrubs and salts. Tare weight is 23 g and 32.5 g.
