Around Issyk-Kul, buckets are needed year-round, just by different people: in summer, by cafes and guesthouses along the shore; in late summer and fall, by those harvesting sea buckthorn, apples, and potatoes; and by beekeepers when it's time to extract honey. HTI molds food-grade buckets from 560 ml to 21 L in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and ships them to the region by freight carrier. Below you'll find what people by the lake put in each size, a size guide by product, and a pallet calculator.

Every HTI size in one showcase. Under each one is a real-life job from the shoreline, from a tourist's portion of sea buckthorn to a bucket you take out to the potato field. Each card links to the size page with dimensions and empty weight.
What tourists take home and guesthouses put on the table.
Preserves, pickles, salt-cured fish, and meat for cafes and resort hotels.
Potatoes, apples, and sea buckthorn at harvest, plus honey extraction.
Containers for shoreline cafes, guesthouses, and Karakol's bazaars.
Jerry cans for drinking water at camps and for irrigation water.
Yellow and red buckets for hospitals, sanatoriums, resort first-aid stations, and vets.

Sea buckthorn puree with sugar in a single serving for tourists: a low bucket with no handle slips easily into a bag.

Sour cream and kaymak for breakfast at south shore guesthouses: the plastic handle makes it easy to bring to the table.

Mountain honey in a clear body as an Issyk-Kul souvenir: the tall, narrow bucket looks great on the shelf.

Sea buckthorn jam for lakefront cafes: thanks to the molded-in handle, staff carry the bucket from the kitchen to the counter in one hand.

A liter of sea buckthorn preserves, about 1.33 kg, is a top seller at Karakol's markets and along the shore road.

Apple butter from shoreline orchards in a clear bucket: shoppers can see the color without lifting the lid.

Spiced salt-cured fish for shoreline cafes: a bucket with a bail handle is easy to pull off a walk-in cooler shelf.

Pickles and marinated mushrooms for a resort kitchen: the 200 mm opening fits a ladle with ease.

Honey for wholesale buyers who make the rounds of the region's apiaries: about 8 kg in a single bucket.

Marinated meat for shashlik at north shore holiday camps at the height of the resort season.

Picking sea buckthorn and apples in the orchards: the plastic grip on the bail handle won't dig into your palm when the bucket is full.

Potatoes from fields in the east of the region, at harvest and sorting: a sturdy bucket with a bail handle and plastic grip.

Renovating guesthouses before summer: putty, grout, and water for mixing on site.

Honey extraction: the bucket goes under the extractor's tap, and the 21 L holds about 30 kg.

Sea buckthorn sauce and preserves in single servings with blini at shoreline cafes: the 250 ml hexagonal container.

Ice cream and berry desserts to take to the beach: 385 ml round containers with lids.

Fresh vegetable salad at a south shore guesthouse: 400 ml per guest.

At Karakol's bazaars, people grab ashlan-fu, the local cold noodle soup, to go: the 550 ml round container holds the noodles and their sauce.

Fried fish with a side for beachgoers: a flat tray, closed with a lid.

Drinking water for a yurt camp on the south shore: a 5 L jerry can for each yurt.

Water for potato and berry patches at shoreline dachas: ten liters, molded-in handle.

First-aid posts at north shore resorts: injections for vacationers, with the needle staying behind the valve of a one-liter bucket.

Beach lifeguards and first-aid stations: gauze and adhesive bandages go into the yellow 2.3 L.

Vaccinations in the villages of Jeti-Oguz and Ton districts: syringes go in through the needle valve.

Mud therapy clinics and sanatoriums by the lake: wipes for disinfecting treatment tables, served from a dispenser lid.

Karakol trauma care in winter: dressings for skiers, in a red body for Class C waste (by Kyrgyz sanitary classification).

District hospitals in Balykchy and Cholpon-Ata in peak season: ward waste, 11.2 L.

Vets before livestock move up to the syrts (high mountain pastures): supplies after vaccination, plastic handle.

Regional hospital in Karakol: waste from a whole floor under a lid, 18 L.

South shore villages with infrequent pickup: 21 L, and the bucket stays closed until the truck comes.
Guesthouse storerooms by the lake are usually cramped, so it matters that empty buckets nest in a stack. All the lids are flat, with an OPEN tamper-evident tear strip under the rim: tourists can see the souvenir hasn't been opened since filling.
The table is built around the products the region lives on. Each row gives the usual starting size, the number of buckets per pallet, and the page where that job is covered in detail. The season column tells you when your packaging should already be in place.

The freight carrier needs time to get to the lake, so it's best to send your request for the resort season in spring, and for sea buckthorn and potatoes in midsummer. That way the buckets are already in place when work begins.
Issyk-Kul Region is more than north shore beaches. Four very different kinds of customers buy buckets here, and each one's demand peaks at a different time of year.

Resorts, guesthouses, and cafes along the shore run at full capacity in summer. Kitchens take 3.8 to 8 L buckets for pickles, sauces, and marinated meat, and for breakfast, 800 ml and one-liter buckets of sour cream and preserves.
Sea buckthorn is the berry tourists know Issyk-Kul for: it's picked, mashed with sugar, and sold by the roadside and at markets. For picking, the 11.5 L works well; for selling, clear 560 ml and one-liter buckets; and for apple butter, 2.3 L.
Mountain honey is a popular buy for tourists heading home. Beekeepers pack it in 850 ml and one-liter buckets for the counter and in 5.6 L for wholesalers, and during extraction they set a 21 L bucket under the extractor's tap.
The east of the region, including Tüp (Tyup) District, is potato country. For harvesting and sorting, growers use 15 L buckets with a bail handle and plastic grip, and between shifts the empty buckets nest in a stack instead of taking up half the shed.
Pick a bucket and enter how many you need for the season, and the calculator will show the number of pallets. An example from a sea buckthorn plant near Karakol: 9,000 clear one-liter buckets come to two pallets. A potato farm can cover its harvest with 800 buckets of 15 L each, which is one pallet.
Pallets travel to the lake by freight carrier. The process is the same for an apiary in Tüp and a resort in Cholpon-Ata.
Tell your sales manager what you'll be packing, which sizes you need, how many, and which town or village in the region they're going to.
Your sales manager will pick the buckets, work out the pallets, and quote the price for your order. They'll confirm the delivery time and cost when you place the order.
Pallets are assembled at the factory warehouse in the Bishkek FEZ, Ak-Chiy village. If the buckets will carry your brand, the artwork is approved first.
Your order goes to the freight carrier, which delivers it to your town or village. The paperwork travels with the shipment.

Buckets for Issyk-Kul Region leave our plant in the Bishkek FEZ, Ak-Chiy village, by freight carrier. The carrier takes the pallets to Karakol, Balykchy, Cholpon-Ata, Tüp, and the villages of the south shore. Your sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when you place the order.
HTI has no warehouse in any town around the lake. If you're in Bishkek yourself, you can pick up your order at the plant in your own vehicle and bring it back on the return trip.
The key for the region is to order ahead. Guesthouses are best off getting their buckets in spring, before the season opens; orchards and potato farms in midsummer, before the harvest; and apiaries before the first extraction.
Towns with a link have their own page with buckets matched to local products.
The same sea buckthorn is sold to tourists at the roadside and wholesaled to stores in Bishkek. Choose the bucket version based on who'll buy it: tourists look at the product, while stores look at the label and whether the packaging is intact.
Orange sea buckthorn and golden honey sell themselves when shoppers can see them through the wall. Clear buckets come in every size from 560 ml to 21 L.
For stores and chains: the white body is opaque, so a label with the ingredients and packing date reads clearly on it.
Tourists buy souvenirs from sellers they don't know, and an intact seal under the rim shows the bucket hasn't been opened since filling.
Your apiary or guesthouse name is fused into the wall during molding, so the image won't rub off on the road or in the wash. For a trial order, a label will do.

Directly from the HTI plant: we make buckets in the Bishkek FEZ and ship them to the region in orders of one pallet and up. Call +996 222 600 292, and our sales manager will pick the sizes and arrange shipping.
Your sales manager prices each order based on size, quantity, handle, color, and printing. The freight carrier's shipping cost comes in the same quote.
Pallets ship from the plant by freight carrier to any town or village in the region. Your sales manager confirms delivery time and cost when you place the order. If several neighbors need buckets at once, say apiaries in the same village, let us know: it's easy to combine them into one shipment.
No, there's no warehouse or pickup point in the region. Every order is put together at our plant in Ak-Chiy and ships straight to you, so sizes, handles, and colors match your order exactly.
Most often clear 560 ml and one-liter buckets, so the orange berries show through the wall. Learn more about berry packaging on our buckets for berries page.
Yes. Food-grade polypropylene buckets are used for salt-cured fish, usually 3 to 5.6 L with a metal bail handle. See our buckets for fish and caviar page for details.

Yes, with a label or IML. The artwork is approved with your sales manager before the run is molded.
